About Agape Impact

A Word From The Founder

Agape Impact was founded on a premise that ALL people are allowed to serve God and to spread the good news about Jesus Christ. For many people in the LGBTQIA+ community the first struggle in being able to be serve God, is having to reconcile that they are both gay and  can also be Christian. Over the course of my walk with God,  I have found that God’s Grace is complete and enough, that regardless of gender, sex, sexuality, age, color of our skin, economic status, and many other things, that He loves us. It is called the Agape love. The unconditional love that many yearn for, but don’t know where to find it.

My first missions trip was to Mexico City in June 2010, it was the first time that I had the opportunity to minister to other people in the LGBT community in another country. I was completely lost. I almost got arrested leaving the airport because I was taking pictures in the customs terminal and did not realize that I was not allowed to. The security guard kept saying “borrar”, which means “erase” in spanish, but I looked at him with a blank face. I obviously did not know the language, I did not know the people, I did not know the country. I ordered “Queso” at the restaurant and they literally brought back melted cheese. Definitely, not the kind that you get at your Tex-Mex Restaurant down the street in the U.S.

When it came to ministry, it was a different story. It sometimes can be funny, amazing, and a site of miracles all at once when you see God working for His good. We had translators at the time, but this was our first time meeting this group of Believers. In a span of 3 days, God was able to use us to essentially “read people’s mail” when praying or talking to them. I fell in love with the people and the culture. The worship was unconstrained and genuine. I fell in love with knowing God was not picky. I knew that God was using me and our team to minister to break hearts and chains for His Kingdom, regardless of them being LGBT. Breakthroughs happened that week. Breakthroughs happened every trip I took thereafter, not only for the people we served, but for my heart as well.

A couple of years later, I met a missionary leader from India who was relieved of his duty after 13 years being in the field. He was asked to leave his program because he was gay. A man who knows the heart and mind of God and for so many years saw and helped administer the work and miracles of God. He was told that he could no longer serve because of his sexuality. I could not understand why organizations let this happen. What I came to realize is that this problem was happening to other people in the LGBT community across the country and world. When there is a problem, God provides a solution.

Remember, God is not picky. He longs for a man’s heart. God desires for  everyone to worship Him. The stories above and the knowledge God has agape love for us, are the kindling that keeps the vision for Agape Impact alive.
God broke my heart and called us so that we may bring his Agape Love to ALL PEOPLE. Join us in His movement.

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release darkness for the prisoners..” Isaiah 61: 1

“A father to the fatherless, defender of widows…” Psalm 68:5

“Defend the cause of the week and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.” Psalm 82: 3

You Can Be Gay and Christian

We believe that “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Biblical Aspect

We believe that Jesus told all people, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

Historical Aspect

We believe in not having to recreate the wheel and learning from those who followed this call before us.  “For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” Romans 15:4

Cultural Aspect

We believe in meeting people where they are and respecting their homes, countries, and cultures just as Paul did in Acts. “Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone,to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.” 1 Corinthians 9:19-23

Through prayer, counsel, partnerships, and development of goals we will help our missionaries go into the world and plant LGBTQIA+ affirming home groups and churches. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Financial Coaching/Training

We believe our missionaries should be focused on serving the people they are called to serve. We will provide financial coaching, help set up fundraising and support websites, and develop “tent making” ideas. “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.” Romans 13:8
